Walking in the rain

umbrella splash soaked flood walk rain

The Celtic Classic was rained out on Sunday August 28th. The rain would not relent and the creek behind the girl over flowed it's banks causing the festival to be closed. The little girl had an enjoyable time splashing in the mud puddles and walking in the rain.

The photo looks like it has a lot of noise / grain but it's actually the rain falling.

I was walking past this restaurant in Harvard Square when the cook started making crepes. Rather than just stare through the window I walked inside to take some photos. The crepes looked good but I didn't stay.

This year we had a warmer and dryer summer than years past. The acorns are dropping out of the trees earlier and the acorns are smaller. The squirrels will be busy digging up the yard.

Old North Church Tower

The Old North Church in Boston. Paul Revere was in the bell ringers guild so he knew that a lantern hung in the tower could be seen across the city. Longfellow's Poem describes the historic night.

LISTEN, my children, and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-Five;
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year.

He said to his friend, "If the British march
By land or sea from the town to-night,
Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry arch
Of the North Church tower ... "

Think Spring

It's getting cooler and the days are getting shorter but I'm thinking spring. Spring brings hope while fall brings a long list of companies going bankrupt and a stock market going down like a lead balloon.

PS: Today is the first day of Fall.
