I was waiting for a friend to cross the finish line at the Philadelphia SheROX triathlon on August 7th. I couldn't see the runners until they were right at the finish line so I had to be ready to press the shutter at a moments notice. The guy in front of me kept getting his camera in my way so I decided to focus on his camera for one of my photos.

Rows of bikes
In a triathlon the athlete has to swim, bike and run but they also have to make two transitions. After swimming the athlete has to run into the transition area and find their bike which isn't easy when there are over 1000 bikes in the transition area. To speed up your transition time you have to count racks from the transition entrance and then you still have to find your bike on the rack.

Green swim cap
The swimmers in a triathlon are broken down into waves, usually based on the swimmers age group. These swimmers are looking at the American flag as the national anthem plays. I noticed there was one swimmer in a green swim cap surrounded by swimmers with red and pink caps. She seemed to be out of place but I'm sure she found here swim wave before it was time to jump into the river.

The Swimmer
In 2010 I took up cycling and I didn't have time to take photographs for this blog. By the end of 2010 I decided to sign up for a triathlon in 2011 and I've signed up for four of them! I joined the YMCA, started running and took swimming lessons. So far I've completed three 5K races and one 10 mile race, I've also competed in 2 triathlons. This photo was taken by my wife at an open water swim class I attended.
