This weekend my rhododendron was in full bloom.

Egg and spoon race

One of the kids games at Springton Manor farm was an egg and soon race. Some kids held the egg close to their body, some carried the egg using two hands and some walked backwards. The boy pictured in the photo was the winner and his secret was...age. He had to be 4 years older then any of the other kids in the contest.

Farmer Bob

On Saturday I was at the Springton Manor farm for the sheep and wool day. You should have seen the look on the fathers face when I said I was in line and his son would have to wait til I had my photo taken.

The Scout

So how does this work, is the youngest deer sent out to scout the photographer while the elders watch. Is this a right of passage to adulthood or a Darwin test to thin the herd? You decide, I welcome your comments.

Purple and green, why? I understand the color of the stone is this yellow green tint but why paint the window that shade of purple? This is an historic building, is that shade of purple an historically significant color?
