While he was sleeping.
I mentioned earlier how tough it was to get photos of wildlife with a point and shoot camera. I managed to get close to this stork because it was sleeping. It flew away just after I took the photo.

Up close with the bird
Yesterday I said it was tough to get photos of birds with a point and shoot camera. The next day this bird let me get up close and position the bird in front of the bird house. Thanks little bird.

Drying his wings
It's tough to get close up photos of birds when all you have is a point and shoot camera. The crane and the cormorant share some high ground at one of the ponds on the gold course.

Boats on blue
I'm not sure I ever saw water this shade of blue but it sure looks pretty. But you don't want to go in the water because there are gators in this part of Florida.

This palm tree developed some serious defensive strategies for any animal that might think about climbing the tree trunk.

Pinning Butterflies
A worker at the Florida Museum of Natural History pins butterflies. You should stop by the Butterfly Rainforst and check out all of the butterflies. If it's raining the butterflies will not be flying but it makes photography easier.

Leaves, leaves and more leaves
My next house isn't going to be near any trees! I have no trees in my backyard yet my deck and yard are covered in leaves. I collected 56 bags of leaves with the help of the cyclone rake and a lady in the neighborhood came and took all of the bags. She loaded 3 bags into the back of her hatchback and made as many trips as necessary until the leaves were all gone. She didn't stop at my neighbors house, just mine. I guess she likes the fact that my leaves are shredded before they are bagged. I hope she comes back again, I have more leaves in the yard so there will be another weekend spent bagging leaves.

Red and yellow leaves
Don't these red and yellow leaves look well together? Like the keys on a piano the color of the leaves compliment and contrast each other.

Lost pretzel
Someone lost a pretzel down by the lake, it looks faded and washed clean of the salt. I wonder how much longer it lasted before it faded away to nothing.

Did they read the sign?
The sign said no horses but then again the sign was on a different trail so these riders were not breaking any rules.

Converse high tops
I remember having a pair of Converse high tops as a kid. Funny how things fall out of fashion only to come back into fashion years later.
