Pine tree
A number of years ago this pine tree was rescued from the side walk of a local college campus. It grew very tall in it's new location, the shade of an 80 foot oak tree. One year deer ate the branches but the tree survived and grew taller. Every time we have an ice storm the tree falls over. Does anyone know how to make the tree stop growing taller until the trunk can support the tree?

Cardinal
We have a pair of Cardinals that visited the bird feeders but they were camera shy. Every time I picked up the camera they flew away.

Squirrel
I keep the squirrels away from the bird feeder using a baffle on the pole but the squirrels still come around and gather up the fallen seeds. The squirrels annoy Piper who barks at them and lunges at the door to scare them away.

Crows
These blackbirds appear to be juvenile crows. They chased away all the song birds and took over the suet feeder. Eventually they flew away but one hung around for a couple of hours. I wonder if the lone crow managed to find the group later?

Suet feeder
I'm back...my three week vacation playing Wii has resulted in high scores and a sore arm. It's time to step away from the TV and start taking pictures. The problem is I caught the virus that's going around so this week's photographs will be the wildlife outside my window.

Wii voucher
The Circuit City ad in the Sunday paper said they had Wii consoles for sale and they guaranteed a minimum of 6 per store. Sunday morning the temperature was 28 degrees and everything was covered with frost so I dressed in layers. I arrived at the store at 7:30 AM, a quick head count made me number 4 (notice the lower right corner of the voucher.) Everyone was friendly and had their own story of the Wii console search so the 2 1/2 hour wait went rather quickly. I can't wait to start playing.
